The Line & Roots style of family photography is similar to Lin and Jirsa’s style of engagement photography. Our focus is on expressions and on capturing emotion with an attention to detail and creativity. It’s more of a lifestyle approach that expresses the love between each member of the family.
Family Photography FAQs
How often should I take family photos?
While we would like to suggest scheduling a family session annually, we know that regularly scheduled portrait sessions may be difficult for some. Choosing to schedule your session close to a family event or the holidays is a great way to commemorate that special time.
Where does my family photo session take place? Do you have a studio?
Sessions take place either outdoors at one of our preferred locations or at our studio. For studio sessions, we have a beautiful portrait space at our studio. Let us know if you want a more formal studio session or if you prefer one of our preferred outdoor locations.
What do I wear to my family photo session?
We are more than happy to consult with you and your outfit choice(s). We suggest everyone wear similarly styled outfits; everyone has a casual look or everyone has a formal look. It is not necessary for everyone to wear the same color, however, harmonious colors/color palettes photograph best for groups.
What if I am not photogenic?
Believe it or not, many clients tell us this before their session, and it never turns out to be true! We love coaching our clients through their session, and have a lot of tricks up our sleeves to make you look fabulous! When you’re having a great time, you’ll look more beautiful than you thought was possible.
What props should I bring to my session?
Props are not necessary, but they can be a great way to personalize your pictures.
Can I keep the images from my session private?
Of course! If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate so when booking your session. For clients who choose to decline releasing their photos to our blog, we absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.
